Short information about the company:

The Hostel is a project founded by two world travellers entrepreneurs that shared their love for new experiences, cultures and adventures. It is the first “capsule/box bunk beds” hostel in Barcelona. This hostel model was created in Japan in 1979 for travellers looking for comfortable but low-priced hotels.

The hostel box new concept has been very well received by tourists from all over the world and have recently been awarded with the First Prize in the VIII Contest of Young Entrepreneursat the Barcelona’s University, in collaboration with the Gaspar Spanish Foundation – CETT.

Description of activities:

• Customer service and tourist information assistance
• Responsible for check-in / check –out functions
• Engage with clients on the telephone
• Deal with incoming email correspondence  to administration address.
• Administrative tasks associated with tourism management (i.e. loading bookings, invoicing, issue vouchers)
• Maintenance of common areas.

Starting date: January 2016 onwards

Duration: Minimum 3 months

Working hours: Part time position (20 – 30 hours/week)

Financial contribution: Accommodation provided at the hostel and daily subsistance allowance provided.

 

Job related skills

Requirements:

• University students in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
• Work experience in tourism field will be considered an advantage
• English – advanced, Spanish – comprehensive although certificate not necessary
• Working knowledge of Microsoft windows application
• Good comunicator, sociable and team player
• Be eligible for an Erasmus+ grant.
