Context & Introduction
Methodology is a systematic approach that outlines and structures ways of working. As a software implementer, Wipro uses SIM - Solution Integration Methodology.
A transformation program has an ongoing requirement for support in terms of methodology, may that be to meet the onboarding of new members (training), the adaptation of templates and ways of working (client logos; formats etc). Also, although Wipro uses and recommends SIM, when working with a new client the odds are that methodologies will suffer changes and adapt to the client reality.
SIM Methodology structures an implementation project in 7 phases: Define, Design, Build, Test, Accept, Implement and Stabilize. Each one of these phases has specific deliverables, templates attached to it, ways of working and all fundamental materials providing support the processes defined.
Information on these processes must be made available to all in a systematic way, and contents need to flexible enough so that they can be adapted and re-used in an easy and accessible manner.
Goals & Objectives
The goal of this internship is to provide a solution to the previously described need and comply with the following requirements:
- Repository of related support documentation
- Content Display/ Presentation abilities
- Editable Templates
- Remote access
- Download/ upload features
- Integration to MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word
Skills required / Skills to be developed
Responsible for development and implementation of small to medium components should be able to work on problems of limited scope, through usage of standard software development concepts and principles
The candidate will understand the different cycles of a project and acquire:
- Deepened knowledge of a project life cycle
- Developed knowledge of project management methodologies
- Intellectual drive (evidences driven solution)
- On the job/ hands on training
The SIM framework would be an enormous project facilitator in any transformation program. It would make information available and accessible to all projects, while standardizing it.
It optimizes productivity as it will enable the project to quickly adapt to any change. It would mean a project would no longer depend on manual workarounds to get the right support documentation, nor would this have to be done repeatedly for every project.
