During 2016 and throughout 2017, CETAPS will be organizing at a global scale, the Commemorative Programme of the 500 Years of the publication of Thomas More’s Utopia. “Utopia500” has a website (www.utopia500.net) meant to contain:
. information on all the events (all over the world) that will be organized in order to celebrate the idea of Utopia.
. the promotion of four outreach activities: “PAN-Utopia 2100”, “Great Utopians: People with ideas that have changed the world”, “The Guestbook Project” and “Ecotopia”.
. a blog in which various solidarity projects are promoted (non-profit and that, in our view, promote utopian thinking).
. Information on the ARUS network (Advanced Research in Utopian Studies).
Additionally, ALIMENTOPIA / Utopian Foodways, the most recent project hosted by CETAPS and ILCML - FLUP, aims to offer a multi-disciplinary approach to the discussion of future conditions of food production and consumption through holistic and prospective utopian thinking, thus aiding the implementation of the emerging field of Food Studies in Portugal.
However, the projects are in need of contributions from specialists in Journalism and Reporting, who may help with the promotion in newspapers and magazines, and with the communication with cultural and educational institutions from all over the world. They can also conduct interviews with local institutions that we want to report on and contribute to our project’s blog.
The projects will benefit from the contribution of several trainees coming from all over Europe and a truly international work environment will be offered, from September 2015 to December 2018, as well as the unique opportunity to participate in a project that will grow in direct proportion to their work. Trainees are welcome to stay from 4 months to 1 year.
Interested in promoting the project in media outlets, and helping with the communication with cultural and educational institutions from all over the world.
Experience in managing blogs.
Flexibility to adapt to different work activities.
Ability to work in an international environment.
Willingness to contribute to the success of the project.
