Who are they, what do they do?
A specialist exhibition contractor and event project manager that works throughout Europe, Middle East and America.

They work for three categories of organisations:

  1. Commercial organisations that use face-to-face marketing to attract and engage customers, such as business-to-business exhibitions or single events.
  2. Organisers of exhibitions or trade events who deliver business support through group stands or pavilions.
  3. Brand owners who go to market using the retail channel and need to attract and engage the channel owners.

The host company designs, manufactures and install brand specific environments in the form of:

  • Custom exhibition stands
  • Group stands and pavilions using our propriety system
  • Interactive retail and showroom displays

The Placement

This position within the business development team of a Northampton based exhibition and event organisation that works throughout Europe and Internationally.

The key responsibility will be to assist the business development team to implement, monitor and improve an international marketing program to attract and engage German organisations who use 3 dimensional marketing environments and face-to-face marketing as key part of their marketing strategy.

Your Role

To establish relationships with organisations from Germany who exhibit in the UK or elsewhere in Europe.

  • Where we could offer our existing "Group Stand and Pavilion" components and expertise.
  • Who could make use of our custom design and build services.

Wider opportunities include the engagement of organisations that exhibit outside Europe as part of their international marketing programme.

One of the main tasks to deal with is to plan and run presentations in Germany to engage all mentioned target groups.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of project management techniques in addition to strong organisational and planning skills. Confidence to present our topics in German is required. The role, responsibilities and rewards will quickly develop for the person contributing high levels of skill and initiative.

Person Specification

An interest in the event management industry is essential and relevant marketing knowledge is desirable. However applications will be considered from those who are passionate about international marketing and are willing to gain industry experience.

Skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English Language
  • Native in German Language, including good German writing skills
  • Able to translate documents from English to German
  • Able to hold a professional presentation in German
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident and outgoing personality with the ability to speak with people at all professional levels, including senior management
  • Fluent in Word, Excel and especially in PowerPoint
  • Interest in marketing and marketing strategy implementation
  • Keen to work in an international office with people from Germany, Poland and the UK.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and organizational skills required
  • Attention to detail
  • Background: Relevant business degree
